1. Convertible dodger for an Elan 38 sailboat.

2. The purpose of this dodger is to protect the entry way of the sailboat and crew from rain and waves. The client wanted to have a dodger that not only served as protection but also was aesthetic in design and enhanced the styling of the sailboat. The client also wanted the ability to retract the top section of the dodger but leave the windshield section intact which would allow more air flow and light to enter the cockpit.

4. The results of the project were great. The overall form of the dodger was streamline and helped enhance the styling of this sleek sailboat. The client commented on the fact that the sailboat looked better with the dodger on then without. The functionality of the dodger was excellent, by the simple act of pulling two pins in the frame, the dodger would retract forward.
